THE OPPORTUNITY:
A unique opportunity to join a growing company and be a key contributor in executing NMG's product growth strategies. The Product Specialist Supervisor for Recon converters will report to the general manager of Recon, and will ultimately be responsible for our current product offering with a major focus on new converters to market. This position will be responsible for the launch of new SKU’s, build specifications, exploded views, core identification and supervision of the core sort and R&R teams, technical bulletins and the internal converter expert.
This position will be responsible for working closely with members of technical marketing, marketing services, sales, and operations departments to ensure continuity in product offering and reinforce the company’s strategic goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the complete product life cycle for all skus within the product line - Development, Launch, Expansion, Modification, Consolidating when possible, Alternative core opportunities and Discontinuation of SKU’s.
- Work closely with the engineer team to insure when we launch a new SKU we have defined the process and have the correct fixtures and tooling needed.
- Conduct and maintain OEM and competitor research to communicate coverage goals and opportunities to the product team.
- Maintain accurate application databases, adhering to published industry standards (ACES). Develop ACES comparable application data if none exists.
- Maintain automotive part interchanges for all key competitor part numbers.
- Work with purchasing team on supplier development and approval process ensuring high quality product that meets the value proposition of the product line.
- Develop and conduct ongoing training presentations and modules with for the production team.
- Conduct field research/customer visits to understand issues/opportunities with assigned lines and make recommendations to correct issues and take advantages of opportunities.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous relevant work experience in converters is highly preferred.
- College degree a plus or 5 years of hands of experience.
- Experience managing multiple brands, including private label, conducting line reviews, and managing product lifecycle.
- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify new areas of product and service opportunity through market research and understanding of customer needs.
- Customer-focused mindset to create best customer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with key stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of professionals, both internal and external.
