Job Description:
The Field Services Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and licensing requirements specifically related to field services and the installation, maintenance, and modification of TransTech's manufactured equipment. This role involves overseeing and managing comprehensive compliance processes for our field service operations across all subsidiaries, ensuring proper licensing, permitting, and adherence to industry standards relevant to equipment construction, inspection, and repair. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the construction and general equipment regulatory landscape across multiple jurisdictions and serve as a key resource for legal and regulatory matters impacting our field service activities, mitigating risks and maintaining operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Service Licensing & Permitting: Oversee and manage licensing and permitting processes related to equipment installation, modification, and repair. This includes ensuring timely acquisition, renewal, and maintenance of required licenses and certifications for our field service teams and projects.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to secure and maintain state-specific construction-related licenses, bonding, and insurance relevant to field work on equipment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor, interpret, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations relevant to equipment construction, installation, inspection, repair, and environmental compliance in field service operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain consistent compliance policies across all subsidiaries, addressing unique regulatory requirements specific to field service work on equipment.
- Advise leadership and operational teams on regulatory changes and their impact on equipment-related field service activities.
- Research and provide guidance on required permits and licensing for specific equipment projects in the field.
- Maintain and update state reporting requirements relevant to our field service equipment operations.
- DOT Compliance: Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations as they pertain to the transportation of equipment and materials for field service equipment projects.
- Develop database and maintain State licenses (GC, Gas, Professional Engineering) relevant to field service work on equipment.
- Responsive Permit and Licensing Inquiry Management: Upon request from project managers, promptly research and provide accurate information on required permits and licensing for specific field service locations and equipment projects.
- Work closely with project managers on permits and licensing for equipment-related field services, giving guidance where needed.
- Maintain and update reporting requirements for each state where we have current licenses relevant to field service equipment operations.
- Compliance Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of licenses, permits, certifications, and regulatory filings specifically for field service activities related to equipment.
- Provide regular compliance status reports to upper management, including updates on renewals, audits, and risk areas within field services and equipment projects.
- Ensure timely completion of compliance deadlines and filings relevant to field service and equipment regulations.
- Cross-Company Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory compliance risks specific to field service operations and equipment-related projects.
- Proactively address potential compliance issues and provide risk mitigation strategies for field service work on equipment.
- Investigate and resolve compliance violations or discrepancies within field service activities related to equipment.
- Collaboration & Training (Field Service & Equipment Focus): Collaborate with leadership and internal field service teams to align and implement compliance policies specific to equipment work.
- Conduct company-wide training on applicable regulations and licensing requirements relevant to field service and equipment operations.
- Provide guidance and support to subsidiary and field service management on compliance matters related to equipment.
- Audit & Inspection Management: Manage and coordinate internal and external audits and inspections of field service activities and equipment projects.
- Work with regulatory bodies and third-party auditors to resolve compliance concerns related to field service and equipment regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance and licensing, with a strong emphasis on field services and the construction or maintenance of industrial equipment.
- In-depth understanding of construction industry regulations, licensing processes, and state-specific requirements relevant to equipment installation, inspection, and repair.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple compliance processes simultaneously across various field service locations.
- Strong legal acumen and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments related to field service and equipment projects.
- Proven ability to identify compliance risks and develop proactive solutions within field service operations and equipment-related activities.
