Summary
- The Manual Machinist position is responsible for producing quality heat exchanger components by preparing, and operating a variety of manual machinery.
- Complete boring, and turning operations while interpreting company prints and tolerances.
- Calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Check measurements and allowable tolerances as dictated by blue prints or schematics.
- Handle materials utilizing overhead cranes and motorized lift trucks.
- Required
- Minimum 3 years of manual machining experience.
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments, including measuring tapes, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and dial test indicators.
- Safely handle material utilizing overhead cranes and motorized lift trucks.
- Demonstrated ability to read blue prints and schematics.
- Ability to learn new processes and equipment.
- Safely operate hand / power tools
- Capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with a team
- Knowledge of heat exchangers
- Experience operating Horizontal Boring mill
- Position requires work in a large fabrication shop surrounded by constant welding and grinding, overhead crane movements, and multiple rotating pieces of machinery.
- This position requires constant mobility. Personnel need to be able to lift 50 lbs.
- This is a full-time position.
- Metalforms operates three (3) standard shifts: Days (M-TH), Nights (M-TH), Weekends (F-SU) This position is for the Night shift
- Availability to work on alternate shifts in cases of man power shortage is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manual Lathe Machine: 2 years (Required)
