What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracted Services- Mental Health Professional position at Transylvania County Schools?
The mental health professional would hold an LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) non-provisional license. An applicant with a provisional license (LCMHCA or LCSWA) may be considered with special provisions.
Job Description:
Counseling and Support:
Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
Offer crisis intervention and support for students facing urgent mental health issues.
Work with School Counseling staff to make referrals for Blue Ridge Health or outside providers as necessary.
Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct suicide assessments in accordance to Transylvania County Schools Suicide Protocol.
Monitor progress and provide follow-up care as necessary.
Collaboration and Advocacy:
Work closely with teachers, school administrators, and parents to address students' mental health needs.
Act as a liaison between the school and external mental health resources or agencies when necessary.
Advocate for students' well-being within the school environment.
Compliance and Ethics:
Adhere to all ethical guidelines, confidentiality regulations, and state licensing requirements.
Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in mental health and adolescent development.
