Responsibilities :

What you'll be challenged to do :

TranSystems is hiring an Entry-level CAD Technician to join our Fort Worth, TX office! This position is for a person with basic operational understanding of computer graphics and drafting.

Primary Responsibilities (others may be included) :

• Create CAD sheets from sketches, layouts and drawings prepared by others.
• Will learn proficiency in operation of various Bentley Microstation, and AutoDesk CAD software.
• Assignments of increasing difficulty will be expected as proficiency is increased.
• Understand and follow TranSystems and specific Client standard CAD procedures for levels, line styles, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
• Understand and follow TranSystems QA / QC process to ensure quality plans.
• Maintain neat and orderly physical and digital work environment that is conducive to efficient work sharing with other team members.
• Individual is flexible and may work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
• Will learn basic bridge, culvert and retaining wall types, terminology, and functions.
• Will learn to detail objects with multiple views and the appropriate number of dimensions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Seeks opportunities to develop the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• General ability to solve practical problems which may occur and / or know when to seek direction from supervisor. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
