Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do : TranSystems is seeking an emerging or established engineering leader with experience in roadway engineering. This role will be responsible for the design and preparation of plan submittals related to highway and arterial roadway design, complex intersection design, local roadways, site design, bridge replacement / rehabilitation, traffic design, and drainage design for Florida DOT and other various DOTs and municipal agencies. General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Project Engineering Perform engineering tasks related to the planning and design of transportation facilities such as freeways, arterials, intersections, railroad and drainage. Be part of a Design Team that produces plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for transportation construction projects. Duties include oversight and preparation of engineering reports, engineering calculations and analysis and furnishing technical documentation for design projects. Work tasks generally pertain to planning and design functions for highways, arterials, traffic, drainage and site design. Attendance at meetings and interaction with clients should be expected. Effective written and oral communication skills are imperative. Oversees project delivery by providing direction and oversight to project team members for the completion of technical efforts including roadway, traffic, drainage and site design projects and reports. Answers any questions and reviews shop drawings during the construction phase of the project. Mentor Team Members Support and develop team members QA / QC – Work with team members to ensure quality expectations are being met. Employee Management Ensure focus on creating a work environment that retains top talent, creates development opportunities for employees, communicates performance concerns, mentors, and supports positive morale. Business Development Maintain Client relationships Proposals / RFQ’s – Support project pursuits. Client Service Team Meetings – Provide input and support where needed Qualifications What you bring to our firm : Bachelor’s degree in the Civil engineering field required. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and various engineering software systems depending on engineering discipline : AutoCAD; MicroStation ORD; Land Desktop, and Civil 3D. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm : At least 15 years of design experience Experience with FDOT design Proven ability to manage individuals.
