Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
The Philadelphia/Ebensburg office is looking for a Lead Transportation Constructor Inspection Manager.
Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):
- Manage a Consultant work force whose responsibility is to ensure that contractors build a quality construction project.
- Ensure Maintenance and Protection of Traffic is implemented. Communicate with subordinates to ensure plans, specifications, standards and Q.C. Plans are adhered to.
- Make assignments to subordinates to assure that contractor’s activities are observed and examined.
- Manage and control overtime to meet the District and project specific overtime budgets.
- Promote a partnering atmosphere by maintaining open and honest communications with the contractors.
- Conduct training and safety meetings.
- Provide support to the Department Project Engineer/ Manager.
- Assists in the inspection of materials and workmanship for compliance with contract requirements and established standards.
- Review inspector’s activities during work operations to assure effectiveness.
- Review, as required, PSA’s and work sheets for inclusion of pertinent information and payments.
- Participates in daily huddles with field staff.
What you bring to our firm:
- One (1) year minimum experience as a Transportation Construction Manager l and has ACI/PENNDOT and NECEPT Field Technician Certification.
- Or Ten (10) years of Transportation Construction Inspection Supervision/Management experience and has ACI/PENNDOT and NECEPT Field Technician Certification.
- Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, and has ACI/PENNDOT and NECEPT Field Technician Certification.
- Or Twenty (20) years of Transportation Construction Inspection Supervision/Management experience acceptable to the Department and a High School Diploma.
- NICET Level IV Certification may be substituted for ACI/PENNDOT and NECEPT Field Technician Certification.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for four (4) years of experience.
- An active Professional Engineer’s License may be substituted for four (4) years of experience and all NICET Levels.
