What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Engineer, FEM (Front End Module), Exterior Systems position at Tranzeal?
We are currently seeking a Sr Engineer, FEM (Front End Module). This position requires experienced professionals with a responsibility for designing and developing FEM of a world class vehicle in terms of both styling and function. Our ideal candidates exhibit a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. Will also act as a mentor to more junior engineers.
Role
Lead or play a leading role in the packaging, engineering design, release and launch of Front End Module systems of a state-of-the-art car.
Create cutting edge exterior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.
Work interactively within a cross functional studio and vehicle engineering team, placing priority upon the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system.
Employ and develop world class engineering tools and an innovative approach to support the systems generation.
Will also act as a mentor to more junior engineers.
Qualifications
5 years for Sr. Engineer level of experience in vehicle Front End Module system design & development.
flair for creative engineering and 3D problem solving.
Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6
Proven experience with FEM systems, energy management components, plastic injection, thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies
good understanding of the range of computational tools available to design engineers
Launch experience
Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
Advantageous
Prior experience with FEM systems, including deep understanding of regulatory requirements and system integration, plastics design, metal stamping design, Al and / or Mg HPDC design, Class A surfaces, fit and finish, gap and flush, structural design, paint (matching), sensor integration.
Hands on experience through an automotive product development cycle

Education
Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
