Mental Health Practice Specializing in Trauma Care and EMDR seeks a Medical Prescriber who specializes in working with children and adolescents, to support client care at one (or more) of our three office locations in the Frederick area.

This is a 1099 or W2 position. Our business development, client care, and billing departments will support you by providing referrals, scheduling client sessions, and handling all aspects of the billing and claims process.
What we are asking of you:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct follow-up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions
- Prescribe medications as necessary
- Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
- Pre-screen clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
- Review patients' medical history and collect additional information from family members and psychologists as needed
- Evaluate patients' emotional, behavioral and mental state through discussion, observation and analysis
- Order lab work and UAs as needed
- Obtain all completed evaluation paperwork and necessary ROI’s
- Coordinate case/evaluation with any involved systems, ie. PCP, therapist, family etc.
- Provide routine check-ups and psychiatric evaluations of clients
- Develop therapy plans
- Analyze medical tests and track patients' progress
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required
- Advise patients on how to cope with mental diseases and emotional breakdowns
- Identify mental disorders and determine best treatments
- Support patients' loved ones and inform them about the patient's condition
- Research medical issues and new medical treatments to update your knowledge on mental healthcare
- Responsible for entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
- Think Creatively — Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions
- Resolve Conflicts and Negotiate with Others — Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others
- Have the desire and experience to work with children.
- Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job
- Work in the office at least 5 hours per week
- Attend clinical staff meetings when required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experienced in both medication management as well as therapy
- Active CRNP-PMH license in good standing
- Experienced with adult populations
- Appropriate professional degree from an accredited University
- Two or more years of training and direct service experience diagnosing, treating and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment of children, adolescents and adults
- Experienced in diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning
- Familiarity with community resources
- Crisis intervention/risk assessment expertise
- Understanding of and ability to implement quality assurance practices
- Assessment and diagnosis
- Thorough knowledge of the state of Maryland service definitions
- Diagnostic Evaluation
- Medication Management
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be licensed by the state of Maryland as a Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with active DEA in good standing
- Must have a minimum of 2 year's experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in a psychiatric outpatient setting and/or behavioral health setting required
- Must be able to practice independently

- Follow all policies and procedures as well as all local, state and federal laws concerning employment to include, but not limited to: CFR 42, PART 2 regulations and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) confidentiality regulations, I-9, Harassment, EEOC, Civil Rights and ADA.
- Interact professionally with clients, employees and visitors maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Respond appropriately in case of program incidents or emergency medical situations and document in writing all incidents related to clients, staff, or the facility, per program policy and procedure and within the required time frame. This includes the reporting and documentation of all serious incidents and unusual occurrences relating to both clients and staff.
