Job Summary:
A Galaxy Travel Advisor has a passion for travel, tourism, teamwork, and customer service. Creating lasting customer relationships that generate repeat business is essential. Our Advisors must be comfortable talking people face to face, over the phone, and online to ask questions to understand the client’s needs. Then they must be able to create a vacation for the client that would exceed all expectations, to illustrate the value of a trusted Travel Advisor, and be able to create a lasting professional relationship. They must be willing to take direction and work as a team. A commitment to learn and a desire to grow in the knowledge of this exciting industry of worldwide leisure tourism is required. A willingness to drive your own success is a must.
Required Job Functions & Requirements
The ability to interact with clients in person at our retail location, over the phone, and online to take care of all their travel needs.
Sales of all forms of travel such as airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, excursions, guided tours, cruises, rail for global destinations. Specialists in specific destinations and/or vendors are encouraged.
Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques and the desire to grow.
The ability to multi-task while remaining detail oriented.
Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge and web-based technology as well as be willing to learn travel industry customer management systems.
The ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing and expanding industry
- High school or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Travel School and/or 1 year Travel Agency experience preferred but not required
- Minimum of 1 year consecutive retail sales and/or customer service experience required
- Well-traveled individuals are a plus
- Valid passport required

Those with experience as a professional Travel Advisor will be moved directly into that roll.
Those who do not have experience as a professional Travel Advisor will begin as a Client Concierge Agent & Admin for a minimum of one year as a training period.
Personal time off is not allowed during the month of January since it is our busiest month of the year.
Hiring in both our Apple Valley, Minnesota and our Owatonna, Minnesota locations. Our Apple Valley, MN office is currently open Monday through Thursday from 10:00am-5:00pm. Our Owatonna, MN office is currently open Monday though Thursday from 9:00am-5:00pm. Hours and days of operation are subject to change.
Job Types: Full-time, Commission
Pay: $25,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
