About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join our team in Norwich, Connecticut. As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for performing echocardiographic studies using cardiac ultrasound machines and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
- Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies
- Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler Exams
- Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards
- Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations
- Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
- Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements:
- Must have 1 year of experience
- Must have BLS, ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS National Certification and state-specific licensing when required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
