Travel Ultrasound Technologist Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Sitka, Alaska.
Job Summary
This 13-week travel assignment requires a dedicated and detail-oriented US Tech with excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week on an 8-hour shift, days only.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
- Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
- Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
- Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
- Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
- Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- BLS certification
- ARDMS National Certification
- State-specific licensing when required
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Certifications
- ARDMS (RVT)
- ARDMS (OB/GYN)
- ARDMS (AB)
Additional Information
