About the company :  A bike tour company specializing in authentic, delicious and inspirational Bicycle Tours for the Culturally curious. They have a passion for bicycling, travel and cross-cultural education. They are growing and seeking energetic, team-oriented individuals with experience in active travel to join the team of Travel Sales Specialists. This is a remote position, anywhere in the state of Massachusetts or the New England area, close enough to drive into the office in Arlington, MA.

Job Summary : The Travel Sales Specialist team is a customer-focused, passionate, organized, and collaborative group with a hands-on attitude that makes things happen together. They work closely with operations, product, marketing, and customer service. Key external relationships include our guests, travel agents, trade partners, and suppliers. The Travel Sales Specialist is responsible for increasing revenue and retain loyal travelers by offering the highest level of front-line service.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include (but aren’t limited to) :

  • Build rapport and understanding the needs of your guests
  • Book guests on scheduled tours, create custom tours for small groups, prepare quotes for private tours
  • Work with the Italian team to ensure guest needs are met
  • Converting leads generated via digital marketing, sales events, referrals, and other channels to bookings
  • Support guests with pre, during, and post-trip questions, amendments, and issues
  • Active engagement with internal departments to ensure sales objectives are met

Required skills :

  • Positive attitude and excited and curious to grow with the company's community
  • Fluent in technology (experience using CRMs, booking platforms, and Microsoft suite)
  • Enjoy working hard, rolling up your sleeves, and being collaborative
  • Strong delivery of the highest quality service
  • Passion for the outdoors, and have some experience and knowledge of some of Italian destinations
  • Strong care about the environment, preserve local cultures, and promote tourism that makes a difference (like bicycle tourism)
  • Experience in sales or customer-facing roles where you have demonstrated your ability to understand and exceed customer expectations
  • Excellent eye for detail and don’t shy away from administrative work
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and establish deadlines to meet objectives
  • Willingness to go the extra mile for guests, colleagues, and the company
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
