Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

106,300.00 - $175,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is seeking an experienced encryption specialist to join our Data Security team, driving the development and enforcement of encryption best practices, policies and standards across the organization. This individual will partner closely with Architecture and Security Engineering to guide the adoption of encryption technologies across the enterprise infrastructure and systems. This individual should have encryption experience with hybrid environments, integrating encryption practices across on premise and cloud solutions and expertise in encryption protocols, standards and technologies (e.g., AES RSA, TLS / SSL, PKI, disk encryption, data masking). This person is a proactive self-starter who takes initiative to drive work forward, with strong analytical and communication skills.

What Will You Do

• Ensure full encryption of enterprise devices, databases and communication channels at rest and in transit.
• Develop, document and enforce encryption guidelines, standards and policies to ensure consistent and secure practices across the enterprise.
• Serve as the encryption SME on the Data Security team, providing guidance and consulting to developers and business units.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity Architects to integrate encryption into new and existing workflows and establish encryption requirements for third party vendors, partners and cloud services.
• Ensure enterprise encryption practices meet regulatory requirements and organizational security policies.
• Perform regular reviews and audits of encryption identifying gaps and mitigation plans.
• Evaluate and recommend new encryption solutions and strategies to strengthen enterprise data protection capabilities.
• Stay current with evolving encryption technologies and regulatory requirements.
• Engage challenges thoughtfully, prioritizing understanding.
