Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing expert engineering services that assist in the resolution of environmental claims and coverage disputes. This job does not manage staff.
What Will You Do?
- Reviews and interprets technical reports produced by external consultants within the context of applicable federal and state regulations. Provides technical counsel to Environmental Claim staff and attorneys.
- Researches and responds to Strategic Resolution Group's (SRG) technical questions in a timely and effective manner. Prepares and presents technical reports as necessary.
- For assigned territories / accounts, participates in remediation site visits, settlement discussions and mediations related to pollution claims. Provides advice on technical issues, including range of options with varying outcomes. Influences positions in settlement discussions and mediations.
- Maintains technical information (causative agent data, consultant database, industry standard operating procedures, company standards, etc.) for SRG. Maintains current data on state and federal regulations, technical advances, and emerging issues. Develops and maintains technical currency in Industrial Hygiene, Pollution and Hazardous Waste disciplines.
- Works with Environmental Claim staff and insureds to select technical consultants to assess damages and / or provide defense testimony on pollution cases.
- Develops technical training sessions for Environmental Claim staff; assists / presents training material.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
