This position is housed at Traverse City High School; however, the program services all buildings in the district.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides supervision and evaluation of Title VI, Indigenous Education Program Staff at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Provides recommendations for program/operational changes.
- Prepares and helps facilitate all Indigenous Education Parent Committee Meetings throughout the school year.
- Prepares and facilitates the Indigenous Education Annual Public Meeting.
- Compiles data and conducts presentations to TCAPS staff and the Indigenous Education Parent Committee.
- Provides Title VI, Indigenous Education Program grant oversight.
- Maintains records, necessary for grant compliance.
- Writes grants and creates reports as requested.
- Prepares and monitors program budget.
- Oversees annual cultural sensitivity/professional development training for Indigenous Education staff.
- Prepares and facilitates cultural sensitivity training to TCAPS staff as requested.
- Coordinates cultural workshops and activities at individual schools within TCAPS.
- Coordinates school-wide cultural presentations at various TCAPS sites throughout the year.
- Arranges guest speakers for TCAPS staff as requested.
- Serve as a Native American student/family advocate with other community partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
- College degree and/or previous relevant work experience required.
- Minimum of two years work experience with Native American students preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of community resources.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and assume leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to work with business and community.
- Ability to plan and facilitate professional and personal development activities with groups and individuals.
