Purpose and function of job:
The Concourse Supervisor works under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager. The supervisor is responsible to oversee the successful game day operations of the concourse carts, ensuring that labor, food, sales and sanitation all run smoothly. Handles any guest complaints working to ensure highest guest satisfaction while embodying The Pit Spitters Way and representing the image of the Traverse City Pit Spitters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee all aspects of the concourse operation during the game, assisting when necessary.
- Assists with direct and indirect supervision of all concourse cart workers.
- Works with Food and Beverage Manager and HR coordinator to ensure that all team members are properly trained in compliance with concessions rules and regulations.
- Check to see that all necessary products have been delivered to the carts.
- Oversee distribution of product to proper locations on the concourse.
- Inform cooks of proper prep levels based on attendance projections.
- Ensures all team members arrive and communicates additional staffing needs to the HR Coordinator.
- Responsible to handle money bags and distribute to cashiers.
- Oversee concession discount program ensuring cashiers follow process.
- Resolve customer satisfaction issues as necessary and log complaints/resolutions as necessary utilizing Customer Satisfaction Cards when needed.
- Supervise beginning and ending inventory of product and supplies.
- Oversee cleanup of the carts during and after the game.
- Must be knowledgeable of concessions safety procedures.
- Responsible for end of shift inventory request sheets prepping for product needs/requests for the next day’s game.
- Assists with training and management of health code standards.
- Works with direct manager and HR to handle any employee relations issues as arise.
- Maintains compliance with all appropriate MIOSHA, safety, departmental or company procedures and standards.
- Night or weekend hours are required due to game day and facility event activity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and skills requirements:
Type of prior related experience:
- Previous hospitality experience or event venue food and beverage experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
Special skills/abilities/competencies required:
- Must be available to work all games according to baseball schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrated management and team building skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Great guest service and customer service skills
Education and certification requirements:
Education level:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree or relative coursework in business, management, hospitality, food and beverage or equivalent experience is preferred.
