What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jail Administrator position at Traverse County?
Traverse County is seeking a Jail Administrator to oversee the daily operations of our facility.
Responsibilities include supervising and managing staff, managing orders, inmate classification, and security in the jail in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Minnesota Department of Corrections. The Jail Administrator will develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Minnesota Department of Corrections and Federal regulations. Additional duties include overseeing inmate needs, managing inmate bank accounts, performing monthly bank reconciliations, and supervising the 911 Communication Center operations. The position also includes managing the inmate commissary and clothing supplies, preparing the Annual Jail and Communications Budget, and preparing quarterly reports for the Department of Corrections.
Qualifications :
- Experience in correctional facility operations, law enforcement, or related fields.
- Associate / Technical degree with coursework in corrections, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
- Considerable experience with supervision, in a law enforcement / detention / 911 center preferred.
Hourly Rate : $34.71 – $48.05 / hour
Successful candidates must pass a written exam, oral interview, drug test, and psychological exam.
