Controller – Travis Meats, Inc.
Overview:
Travis Meats is a food processing facility located in Knoxville, TN since 1935, catering to restaurants, health care, schools, and health facilities. We are seeking a career-minded senior management team member to join our 100 employees and lead a full support staff of five.
Responsibilities:
Purpose Statement
The Controller acts as the chief accounting officer and is responsible for direct supervision and execution of all accounting and financial functions, as well as the leadership of the accounting staff.
Essential Functions
Duties include timely and accurate financial statements, cost accounting, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, budgeting, forecasting, special analysis and reporting, as well as all aspects of tax and reporting compliance.
The controller assists our outside accountant as needed, and acts as the primary contact for banking and retirement plan partners.
The controller reports directly to the Executive Vice President.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
- Minimum requirement Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Four years at an accredited/recognized University/College.
- CPA/CMA not required but considered favorably.
- Experience in Manufacturing cost accounting a plus.
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management.
- Fully versed and practiced in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to respect proprietary information, sensitive personal information, and trade secrets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
