What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Travis Meats, Inc.?
The responsibility of the Grinder operator is to grind meat on a daily basis according to the standard operating procedures in his/her area as needed. Training in the grinding area is required for this position. The training will consist of the complete process-from opening boxes of meat through grinding and monitoring the blends until the meat comes out into the tubs and taken to the next step in the process.
Responsibilities of the Grinder operator consist of, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist grinding team in the assembly of the grinding machines on a daily basis
- Assist other grinding team members in opening boxes of meat and putting them on the table to be ground.
- Responsible for running and monitoring the machines to make sure the machine does not malfunction and the meat is ground to the right consistency and blend
- Abide by OSHA standards as well as company safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Be conscientious and alert to the effectiveness of the safe operations by self and other grinding team members and make recommendations as needed.
- Communicate daily with the Lead person and Supervisor on any production issues that arise. For example: Problems with the temperature of the meat, malfunction of the machine, meat not grinding at the proper speed and consistency
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular, consistent basis
- Perform other duties as directed.
Performance as a Grinding person requires that he/she cooperate and work with all employees involved in production operations as well as lead people and co- workers in other production departments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.50 per hour
