JOB OVERVIEW
The Materials Trim Developer is responsible for the trim development for TravisMathew's men's and women's line. This individual will partner with the Design, Development and Sourcing teams to understand, interpret, and execute all trim developments that meet all aesthetic requirements and are inline with sourcing strategy and cost targets.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Design, Development, Merchandising & Sourcing Teams to source in season trims for men’s and women’s line
- Develop seasonal trim items including buttons, labels, zippers, metal hardware, and other trim as required
- Manage the trim matrix to ensure all critical process information is maintained (i.e., material specs, lead time, pricing)
- Build and maintain the trim library
- Build and maintain the lab dip library
- Execute seasonal development lab dips into bulk ready trim that meet quality standards and adhere to the timelines, sourcing strategy and costing targets
- Adhere to the seasonal Design and Development calendar and ensure approvals, documentation and clear communications to all vendor and partners
- Attend scheduled team and milestone meetings as needed
- Understand each new trim and it’s limitations and capabilities in order to guide design team for future season development and usage
- Serve as the TravisMathew “expert” to vendors in relation to trim development for M&D and create valuable relationships with partners
- Maintain all development files, reports for documentation, follow-up, tracking and seasonal recaps
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Proficient in PLM system(s)
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Working knowledge of trim construction standards and manufacturing process
- Ability to communicate effectively to a globally diverse vendor base
- Ability to manage change and shift priorities based on evolving business requirements
- Ability to problem solve and communicate all issues to applicable departments
- Availability to travel internationally
- Strong organizational skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical trade school and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in trim sourcing and development
