Job Description
Operates a variety of wheeled and/or tracked military tactical vehicles with closed hatches in confined spaces during long periods for the purpose of test and evaluation. Interprets technical manual (TM) procedures and assists with all crew level preventative maintenance checks and services as described in the TM. Installs and secures payload in/on test vehicles and trailers as required for testing. Follows and adheres to the Crew Chief and test officer’s directives. Records test incident data, observations and maintenance actions in the Test Vehicle Daily Operations Log and reports test related information to the appropriate personnel. Utilizes basic mathematics to maintain test mileage summaries. Adheres to Government and Contract policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and cross utilize as necessary to perform other test priority duties. Assists the test officer with test support equipment set-up and teardown. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and maintain for the duration of employment.
Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience with heavy trucks, heavy equipment and/or tactical military vehicles.
Job Skills Requirements:
Must be able to pass a basic written skills test.
Physical Requirements:
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, DOT physical and periodic retests.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs.
Must be capable of climbing up and into large vehicles up to 10 feet high.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted.

Must be able to work day or night shifts as necessary to meet specific test missions.
Must be able to travel.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Tanker Vehicle and Hazardous Materials endorsements.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
