TRC is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Associate Project Manager to support delivery of energy efficiency initiatives primarily serving the residential, multifamily, and small-to-medium business sectors in New York State. Eligible candidates will be a hands-on, highly skilled resource with a combination of project management, project administration, and technical experience. Knowledge in electric heat pumps technologies and building science is critical. Mechanical or energy engineering, sustainability and/or energy efficiency expertise is preferred. TRC seeks an individual with proven success managing a diverse set of responsibilities and with superb communication skills to grow with our company. The role will include supporting a statewide program, implementing a wide array of market-shaping initiatives, and interacting with heat pump manufacturers, distributors, installation contractors, and end use customers.
- Support the Clean Heat Connect initiative – bringing ASHP resources to the market through upstream supply-chain actors.
- Act as a program liaison to heat pump distributors and manufacturers
- Attend events at heat pump distributor’s locations and promote program resources
- Develop, and/or manage the development of, support resources for the heat pump installation contractor’s market
- Support program pipeline tracking and data collection
- Suggest improvements to program and project management processes.
- Write narratives and compile PowerPoint presentations on program performance and, if needed, present on said programs at meetings, conferences, and events.

Support the Experience Clean Heat Pro campaign – promoting awareness and acceptance of heat pump technologies to fossil fuel HVAC installation contractors.
- Act as field ambassador (program liaison) to participating HVAC installation contractors
- Attend and promote events, educational materials and heat pump related resources
- Communicate and coordinate between participating contactors and TRC staff to arrange for site-staff training, signage, and events
- Compile program data from participating sites
- Support program pipeline tracking, data collection, and program reporting to the client.
- Identify potential issues with participating sites and communicate them to NYSERDA staff along with recommended solutions.
- Suggest improvements to program and project management processes.
- Write narratives and compile PowerPoint presentations on program performance and, if needed, present on said programs at meetings, conferences, and events.
- Keep informed of new products and market information of interest to our client;
- Maintain knowledge on energy efficient products and programs;
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
- 2-5 years of project experience related to energy efficiency or decarbonization with preferred experience working directly with/as an installation contractor
- Bachelors preferred; Masters degree a plus but not required
- Experience with electric heat pumps, energy efficiency, and building science considerations related to high performance buildings
- Ability to communicate technical topics to a range of technical and non-technical audiences through case studies and other materials
- Experience working with HVAC installation contractors
- Heat pump market understanding, including how to drive customer acceptance
- Established analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills: proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused mentality.
- Ability to coordinate with other departments to support projects and development or refinement of strategies and processes
- Must be a self-starter and function well independently and in teams

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
