TRC is seeking a Full time candidate for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform quality assurance inspections.
Responsibilities:
The prospective candidate(s) must have experience in structural steel fabrication inspection code requirements, including witnessing and reporting NDT performed.
Preferred other certifications: (Applicants should demonstrate experience or certification in their reply to this advertisement.)
- Current AWS CWI Certification
- NDT Level II certifications, MT, UT shear wave; Radiographic Interpretation, and PT a plus
- Previous structural fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.
- NACE Level 1 and NACE Level 2 a plus
Job Duties
- Familiarity and experience with AWS D1.1.
- Perform third-party structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting
- Utilize applicable ASTM construction specifications
- Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and project special provisions to verify compliance with material quality
- Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per AWS D1.1 Code requirements.
- Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner, and printer
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, the internet, report writing, and file (photograph and other) attachments.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relations
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified through www.aws.org
- 3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good Driving Record (driver's license will be verified
- Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing
