What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at TRC Talent Solutions?
TRC's client is a leading manufacturer of production machinery and robotics based in the Central VA area looking for a Controls Engineer to join their team on a full-time, direct hire basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing products.
Create detailed electrical sensor layouts, help with generating electrical schematics for conveyor systems and other machines.
Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices using Rockwell software.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor of science in controls or electrical engineering preferred, but not required
3 years of related experience, including programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, etc.; knowledge of Allen Bradley / Rockwell systems is a plus
Prior experience designing and implementing control systems with strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based environments
Familiarity working in a manufacturing / production environment using industrial automation is preferred, but not required
