What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Measurement Specialist position at TRC Talent Solutions?
We are currently seeking Measurement Specialists to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Position is based in Chattanooga with major automotive employer. Candidate must be flexible to work any shift and flexible to work weekends.
3 Years of Measuring Technology experience, automotive background preferred.
Education and Skills Requirement:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with 3D-Measurement Equipment (e.g. Zeiss, DEA, Brown and Sharp, Stiefelmayer…)
- Experience with Measurement Software (e.g. Metrology, DMIS, Calypso…)
- Understanding of Coordinate systems and Alignments
Job Duties:
- Experience with 3D measurement equipment such as ZEISS, DEA
- Experience with evaluating and improving sheet metal single part and assembly quality
- Good understanding of Statistical Tolerance Analysis
- Excellent spatial ability
- Solid understanding of technical drawings, specifications, functional dimensions etc.
- Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
- Problem solving and implementation of corrective actions where necessary
- Analytical, innovative and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic thinking
- Strong understanding of Statistical Tolerance Analysis
- CAD knowledge (Catia V5)
- Problem Solving
- Preparing data files
- Cross checking measurement results for plausibility
- Supporting the customers with evaluating the measurement results
- Discussing measurement results with respective departments and suppliers
- Establish presentations and reports for analysis and review of measurements
- Provide accurate and detailed data for customers and in-house
