POSITION SUMMARY:
The Systems Administrator II provides primary Help Desk support and assists in troubleshooting, managing and maintaining all the infrastructure technology of the company. This position shares responsibility for providing installation, maintenance, technical support, and training of end-user hardware and software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Work with Trean’s IT vendor(s) to:

a. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support end-user hardware/software (laptops, desktops, conference room systems, printers, peripherals, etc.).

b. Train end-users in the operation of hardware/software.

c. Resolve technical issues related to end-user computing, servers, or networks in a timely fashion.

d. Ensure server and network hardware is maintained, patched, and upgraded as necessary to ensure reliable operation, supportability and warranty.

e. Administer, configure, support, and maintain enterprise systems and applications such as backup appliances, operating systems, email, phone systems, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, DNS, DHCP, etc.

f. Maintain knowledge of current systems, and research upgrade/migration paths for future systems.

g. Maintain documentation related to systems, processes and procedures. 

h. Ensure regulatory compliance related to HIPAA, risk management, cybersecurity and other IT internal controls and best-practices.

i. Maintain & support ongoing improvements to all company websites. 

2. Manage the inventory of all IT infrastructure (PCs, servers, switches, etc…).

3. Standardize remote IT infrastructure & documentation for all company sites.

4. Monitor & report IT infrastructure metrics.

5. Work with Infrastructure & Security Engineer to manage cybersecurity applications & infrastructure.

6. Perform technical work related to the successful, timely, completion of projects. 

7. Assist with determining project scope, identifying needs, researching and choosing solutions, engaging and communicating with stakeholders, creating timelines, tracking dependencies, and stakeholder training/education.

8. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by: attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societies.

9. Perform other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested.

10. Must maintain a consistent presence in the office


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years system administration experience in a Windows server environment.
  • Previous professional experience with helpdesk/technical support or other troubleshooting experience.
  • Previous experience with server and network infrastructure support and maintenance.
  • Previous experience managing technology projects.
  • Microsoft-MCSA/MCSE certification(s) a plus.
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work within tight timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management (including the ability to meet deadlines).
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service to stakeholders.
  • P&C insurance industry knowledge preferred.
  • Required knowledge and experience with Windows Server OS, Windows 10 OS, remote access (VPN, Microsoft RDP), SAN storage, Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
  • Windows Server – Advanced installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory – creation and management of Users, groups, and GPOs.
  • Scripting – ability to write and deploy scripts for task automation and systems administration.
  • Server virtualization – creating and managing virtual server environments (VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Networking – familiar with TCP/IP network fundamentals, common protocols such as, FTP, SSH, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, VLANs.
  • Other beneficial skills and knowledge include: SD WAN; FortiGate firewalls; system monitoring; Azure AD; Microsoft Intune; Office 365 administration; VOIP; VLANs.
  • Cybersecurity knowledge is a plus. SIEM, packet capture, information classification, data loss prevention, Know B4 training, Zix mail encryption.


Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
