POSITION SUMMARY
A Preservation Architect / Designer is competent in all aspects of historic architecture. Performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation / modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Independently solves problems encountered. They will be responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions. They will perform assignments under the direction of a Principal, however, they are responsible for design and technical aspects of each project. They must provide architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects. It is important they can make independent decisions on significant architectural problems and carry out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research historical background of structure, technical issues, and code issues
- Prepare investigation reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications
- Review contractor submittals
- Serve as historic preservation technical point of contact providing interpretation for design and construction teams
- Provide potential solutions for historic preservation design challenges
- Perform construction administration services including site visit reports, submittal reviews and responses to request for information
- Provide Principal with regular updates on status, issues, or project challenges
- Maintains project records
- Perform field surveys and conditions assessments
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, degree, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The anticipated base salary for candidates meeting the stated requirements is $75,000 – $95,000 and may vary by states we operate in.
