What are the responsibilities and job description for the blu Bartender position at Treasure Bay LLC?
POSITION TITLE: Bartender for blu, the upscale lounge located on the 9th floor
DEPARTMENT: Beverage - Casino
DIVISION: Food and Beverage
POSITION SUMMARY:
Receives beverage orders from beverage servers or guests, and prepares drinks as ordered. Is friendly and courteous to all guests, at all times, has been trained in alcohol awareness, handles guest complaints quickly and properly, maintains control at the bar at all times. Trains and supervises barbacks to assist with duties at the bar.
TASKS:
1. Receives beverage orders from beverage servers or directly from the guests at the bar, and prepares each drink with proper proportions and ingredients.
2. Observes all rules for order taking and has thorough knowledge of cocktails, beers, wines, glassware, pricing and cash/comp procedures.
3. Operates cash register system, bears responsibility for all cash, cash receipts, comp tickets, and provides guests with proper change as required.
4. Maintains highest standards of sanitation, personal grooming, and personal conduct.
5. Observant and aware of guests’ and servers’ needs and wants at all times.
6. Requires the ability to move from one task to another, as needs materialize in each service area. Requires ability to manage own time efficiently and effectively. Able to anticipate needs and take action without being told to do so.
7. Observes proper alcohol awareness rules when servicing the guests and the servers.
8. Specifically responsible to teach the bartender trade to aspiring barbacks.
9. Other tasks as requested by management.
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Must be 21 or older. Must have basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and be familiar with standard drink recipes. Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money.
