REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all preparation necessary to assure proper application of paints, varnishes, sealers and rust proofers.
- Brushes and sprays all types of paint, lacquer, varnishes, rust proofing, or other coating onto metal, wood, or fabricated materials using brush, roller, or sprayer.
- Patching of plaster and sheet rock may be required.
- Security escort procedures are in place when access to restricted area is required.
- Mix, blend and prepare paints that match specified colors.
- Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform paint tasks above ground level.
- Must be able to work from work orders, blueprints, sketches, and instructions from supervisor/manager.
- Keeps tools clean and in good working order.
- Maintains par levels and communicates paint and supply ordering needs to Manager.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School graduate or equivalent. Two years of experience in trade. Two years of commercial and/or residential experience. Complete knowledge of paints, varnishes, lacquer, and their application and maintenance. Physical ability and skill to use normal tools and equipment associated with the trade. High degree of ambulatory mobility to enable person to respond to any type of emergency situation or service call and ability to effectively communicate by way of 2 way radio.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The following activities are normally required to perform these functions: stand, walk, bend, reach, read, write, eye to hand coordination, depth perception, effective verbal communication, strong math skills, excellent organizational skills. Must be able to kneel, climb, stoop and crouch.
