JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Food Runner POSITION #: 210216
REPORTS TO: Sous Chef
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: None
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible primarily for the distribution of food items to buffet line for consumption.
Primary day shift or swing shift hours - part-time or full-time available.
TASKS:
1. Sets up station prior to meal serving and is responsible for safety standards, neatness, and sanitation of work areas.
2. Responsible for the proper use of gloves, utensils, and portion size of each item, temperature of hot and cold food, and the attractive presentation of all food items.
3. Communicates in a timely manner with kitchen staff regarding the amount of food on hand and its quality.
4. Should know the name of each item being served and its main ingredients.
5. Returns uneaten food to the kitchen for proper storage and cleans work station.
6. Serves customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Entry level. Some experience in food service desired but not required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Must be able to stand up for four hours at a time and be able to lift/place food items weighing up to 30 pounds. Must possess hand and finger dexterity to handle serving equipment (tongs, spoons, ladles, etc.) and plate and place food on the counter.
