Daycare Bus Aide

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bus Aide to support the safe and efficient transportation of before and after school students At Treasure Island Academy. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit. This role is essential in fostering a positive environment for students, particularly those with special needs or behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students during transportation.
• Manage student behavior effectively, employing conflict management techniques as necessary.
• Communicate clearly with students to provide guidance and support throughout the bus ride.
• Educate students on appropriate bus behavior and safety protocols.
• Provide first aid assistance when required, ensuring that all health-related incidents are handled promptly.
• Support students with special education needs, helping them navigate their transportation experience comfortably.
• Collaborate with school staff to address any concerns regarding student behavior or safety on the bus.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment within the bus.

Requirements

• Experience working with children, particularly in a classroom or childcare setting.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students and staff.
• Knowledge of behavior management strategies to handle various situations that may arise during transit.
• First aid certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is essential.
• Experience or familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage conflicts effectively.
• A compassionate attitude towards supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 18 per week

Schedule:

• After school
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• No nights
• Split shift

Ability to Relocate:

• Upper Darby, PA 19082: Relocate before starting work (Required)
