What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Patrol Officer position at Treasure Lake Property Owners Association, Inc?
GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK
The Security Patrol Officer is responsible for maintaining a high level of security services throughout the Treasure Lake Community to property owners and guests while enforcing all local and State laws and ordinances and all TLPOA policies and governing documents. This position conducts security activities, assists residents, other agencies, and the public. Activities are performed to ensure reasonable privacy and security for residents and to minimize the risk of loss and damage in case of emergency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Enforce all TLPOA Declaration of Restrictions, Safety and Security Policies and all Sandy Township, State and Federal laws within Treasure Lake, including local traffic ordinances.
· Prepare daily reports as required to keep the Security Officer in Charge advised of Security matters within Treasure Lake.
· Conduct investigations of policy violations within Treasure Lake and assist other law enforcement agencies in the performance of their investigations.
· Report all criminal activity to the appropriate law enforcement agencies
· Routinely check all TLPOA common facilities and property
· Assist the Property Control Compliance Officer in the enforcement of the Property Control Policies.
· Respond to all calls for help and assistance from the residents and guests within the community
· Report any traffic and maintenance hazards to the Security Officer in Charge
· Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from the property owners guest and assist other law enforcement agencies necessary
· Utilize technology such as computers, radio systems, telephones, fax machines and other communication equipment
· Maintain appropriate security and confidentiality of information created or encountered in the performance of assigned duties
· Prepare daily reports required to keep the Officer in Charge advised of Security matters
· Conduct investigations of policy violations within Treasure Lake and assist other law enforcement agencies in the performance of their investigations
· Report all criminal activity to the appropriate law enforcement agencies
· Respond to all calls for help and assistance from the residents and guests within the Lake
· Report any traffic and maintenance hazards to the Officer in Charge
· Maintain all communication and emergency equipment and security vehicles in operable order; promptly report maintenance concerns to the Officer in Charge.
· Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
· General knowledge of the principles of law enforcement, the PA Crimes and Vehicular Codes, and law enforcement terminology and procedures are helpful
· Must be capable of handling complaints with skill and efficiency and treat everyone with respect – property owners, guests, etc
· Ability to observe situations analytically and objectively and relay details accurately
· Ability to remain calm, think clearly and act quickly in emergency situations
· Ability to clearly, concisely, and professionally communicate both verbally, on the phone, face-to-face, and in writing
· Knowledge and ability to clearly produce incident reports
· Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and managers
· Capable of reading and interpreting maps to determine locations and jurisdictional boundaries
· General computer knowledge and competency is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· A minimum of Pennsylvania ACT 235 Lethal Weapon Certificate is required
· Additional specialized law enforcement training at a state, municipal police academy, military branch school or other security training
· Certified in Basic First Aid and CPR required (may be obtained after hire)
· Must hold a valid PA driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
· Must obtain/maintain clean background clearances
· General knowledge and familiarity of the geography of the Treasure Lake Community and surrounding areas is a plus
