Position Overview: As an Assistant Project Manager at Treasure Valley Electric, you will play a crucial supporting role in the execution of commercial electrical projects. You will assist in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical codes and regulations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both field teams and clients.
You will support the project manager in coordinating timelines, resources, and helping with on-site leadership. Your role will include assisting with troubleshooting electrical issues, managing project documentation, and ensuring that the project stays on track. Familiarity with Procore for project tracking and management is essential to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure successful project outcomes.
Compensation: $50,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
Work Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm, with some overtime possibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in coordinating and overseeing commercial electrical projects from start to finish.
- Support in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and timelines to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Help monitor project progress and provide updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
- Assist with managing resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure projects are adequately staffed and supplied.
- Collaborate with field teams, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution and to address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, ensuring accurate records in Procore or other project management software.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and help coordinate necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Help ensure compliance with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies on the job site.
- Contribute to team communication, ensuring that all team members are informed about project details and expectations.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing project submittals, RFIs, and other technical documents as needed.
- Support the Project Manager in mentoring and guiding apprentices and other team members to ensure quality work and adherence to standards.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in project management within the electrical field, with a strong preference for experience in a commercial setting.
- A degree or formal education in Construction Management or a related field is highly preferred to support your expertise in overseeing large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Proven experience in project management and leading teams.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications.
- Familiarity with Procore for project management and tracking.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certificate or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days.
- Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Must have own hand tools.
