Position Overview: As an Estimator at Treasure Valley Electric, you will be at the forefront of our commercial projects, responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical installations. You'll work closely with the project management and field teams to ensure that all project scopes are clearly defined and budgets are adhered to. This role requires deep knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices, as well as the ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation. Your estimations will directly influence the successful planning and execution of projects, ensuring profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed electrical cost estimates for commercial projects.
- Review and analyze project blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Work closely with project managers and field teams to understand the project's needs and ensure all estimates reflect the true scope of work.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Assist with the development of project schedules and budgets.
- Track project costs and provide updates to project managers to ensure projects stay on budget.
- Review change orders and provide updated estimates as necessary.
- Conduct site visits as needed to gather information for accurate project estimations.
- Ensure all estimates are in compliance with local electrical codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in electrical estimating or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience with Procore.
- Experience with Trimble Estimations preferred, demonstrating proficiency in utilizing Trimble software for accurate project cost estimation, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
