The Caldwell YMCA opened its doors on October 27, 2005. Since that time it has become a hallmark of the community, impacting the lives of thousands of kids and families. Facility amenities include a large cardio and weight floor, full-court basketball gym, three fitness studios, and a state-of-the-art aquatics center including a lap-pool, splash pad, pretzel slide, and lazy-river.
The Creative Arts Youth Enrichment Instructor will lead classes in various art mediums, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and more, while fostering an atmosphere that encourages creativity and artistic expression. This role is perfect for an individual who is passionate about teaching the arts and helping students explore their potential.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position averaging 2 1/2 hours per week. Schedule requirements are afterschool hours, between 5:00pm - 7:00pm weeknights. Pay is $14.15/hour.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead art classes for students of various ages and skill levels (specify age range if needed).
- Teach a variety of art techniques, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and other media.
- Create lesson plans that are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with the program’s objectives.
- Demonstrate art techniques and provide individual guidance to students as they work on their projects.
- Encourage students’ creativity, artistic growth, and self-expression.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe art studio or classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Art education or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience teaching or working with children, teens, or adults in an art setting.
- Strong knowledge of various art mediums, techniques, and artistic styles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students of all ages and skill levels.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different learners.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
