Serving over 20,000 active youth, adult, and family members, the West Branch of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA helps members lead a healthier, happier life. Facility amenities and features include six fitness studios, three racquetball courts, full-court basketball gym, youth activity center, climbing wall, 50-meter swimming pool, and training pool.
The STEM Youth Enrichment Instructor leads hands-on, interactive lessons for children and teens in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about introducing young learners to STEM concepts in a fun, educational, and approachable way. This role is perfect for individuals who love working with youth and have a desire to inspire the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position averaging 2-4 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday 11:00am - noon. Pay rate is $14.15/hour.
- Lead engaging, hands-on STEM activities and lessons that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Develop and deliver age-appropriate lessons and projects in areas such as robotics, coding, chemistry, physics, engineering, and mathematics.
- Guide students through STEM projects, ensuring they understand the underlying concepts while having fun and building practical skills.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore new ideas.
- Create a safe and supportive atmosphere for students to collaborate, experiment, and explore STEM topics.
- Monitor and assess students’ understanding of STEM concepts and provide individualized support when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children or teaching in an educational setting, preferably in STEM fields.
- Strong knowledge of STEM subjects and a passion for sharing that knowledge with students.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
