Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in examinations and procedures, ensuring proper animal handling and care
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records of treatments
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hospital
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team
- Utilize veterinary terminology
Requirements:
- Must be available Monday through Friday
- Minimum of 6 months of experience, preferably 1 or more years of experience (Veterinary Assistant, Kennel, Boarding, or Dog Daycare positions do not count as Veterinary Technician experience)
- High School diploma or GED certificate
- Must have computer skills
- Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations
- Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency, and working harmoniously with teammates is required
- Must be dependable, demonstrate strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
