Daycare Assistant Teacher

Key responsibilities may include:

• Classroom Support:
• Assisting with setting up and cleaning up daycare area and materials.
• Implementing lesson plans and activities as directed by the lead teacher.
• Engaging children in age-appropriate activities, including playtime, story time, and outdoor activities.
• Providing individual attention to children who may need extra support.
• Child Supervision:
• Actively monitoring children's safety during playtime, transitions, and mealtimes.
• Enforcing classroom rules and managing children's behavior.
• Responding to children's needs, including comforting child when they are in need of extra support.
• Implementing diaper changes and toileting routines for infants and toddlers.
• Communication and Documentation:
• Observing and documenting children's development and progress.
• Communicating important information to the lead teacher regarding children's behavior, needs, and progress.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, mealtimes, and daily activities.
• Interacting with parents and guardians to discuss children's development and well-being.
• Other responsibilities may include:
• Preparing snacks and meals
• Assisting with cleaning and sanitizing the classroom
• Participating in staff meetings and training sessions
• Maintaining confidentiality of children's information

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Prior experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred.
• Education:High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in early childhood education preferred.
• Child Development Knowledge:
• Understanding of child development stages and appropriate activities for different age groups.
• Communication Skills:
• Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and other staff members.
• Physical Ability:
• Ability to lift and carry children, kneel, sit on the floor, and participate in active play.
• Positive Attitude:
• Enthusiasm for working with young children and creating a positive .

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.63 - $14.46 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
