Position Summary:
As a Nursing Manager you would supervise and coordinate nursing staff and activities to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Working closely with other healthcare professionals and administrators to develop policies, improve processes, and maintain a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff.
- Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Address staff concerns and resolve conflicts.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
2. Patient Care Oversight:
- Ensure that nursing care meets established standards and regulations.
- Monitor patient care outcomes and implement improvements as needed.
- Address patient concerns or complaints and provide solutions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
3. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain records of patient care, staff performance, and departmental metrics.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Participate in meetings and represent the nursing team in organizational planning.
4. Quality Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in patient care and operational processes.
- Implement evidence-based practices and promote continuing education.
- Lead or participate in quality assurance and risk management initiatives.
5. Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop, review, and update nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare management software and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
Work Environment:
- Inpatient Detox/Residential SUD/MH facility
- Fast-paced, requiring multitasking and quick decision-making.
