As a Specialty Polymers Account Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Business Development opportunities & ongoing relationships from both a technical & commercial perspective. Major responsibilities include visiting customers, developing the sales of custom processing services and products, evaluating the technical feasibility of opportunities, managing custom processing project timelines, and driving project delivery with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Custom Processing Business Development
Network with potential partners in O&G, petrochemicals, renewables etc. spaces to yield high quality tolling opportunities
Gather and analyze data regarding opportunities
Develop sales strategy by conducting research to identify new markets and customer needs.
Manage account specific pro-forma Profit and Loss report (P&L).
Manage existing sales accounts in Specialty Polymer Business.
Sales Strategy & Planning
Develop pricing via economic & process design analysis & produces competitive custom processing offerings to customers
Develop and deliver custom processing project justification to internal stakeholders including capital investment justification, market analysis, and results from R&D work
Build an in-depth knowledge of Trecora capabilities, and utilize knowledge to screen projects from a technical & commercial perspective
Relationship Management
Communicate status with internal and external stakeholders including financial performance, forecast, delays, wins, and challenges
Serve as ambassador of organization & deliver timely & well strategized relationship management. Demonstrate exemplary communication.
Manage expectations for diverse stakeholders, including internal and external engineers, scientists, supply chain / commercial team, and executives
Negotiations & Planning
Ensure timely and accurate Sales & Operations planning to meet client needs and aims. Collaborate with internal operations and supply chain to meet (and exceed) deadlines
Negotiate contracts and support development of legal documents
Collaborate with other teams and departments to meet client needs and create new opportunities
Support general Commercial responsibilities for existing customers, including audits, quality issue resolution, operations planning, contract discussions
Display strong flexibility in deploying to diverse technical and commercial responsibilities
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Chemistry, or Engineering required. A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred
5 to 7 years of experience.
Experience problem-solving when met with customer challenges both from a technical and business perspective
Experience in a engineering / operations role in a refinery, petrochemical or polymers plant
Experience Demonstrating and proven financial business acumen.
Performance in sales function
Superb time-management and multitasking skills.
Utilize exceptional verbal and written communication skills to converse effectively with clients.
Can-do attitude and flexibility to juggle numerous initiatives that draw on a diverse skillset (sales / negotiation, project management, technical problem solving, etc.)
Organizational ability and attention to detail to manage multiple accounts at one time.
Negotiation skills for creating and settling contracts.
Knowledge of the most common and most recent industry best practices. Basic understanding of common refinery / petrochemical processes, products, and intermediates
