Overview
The Outside Operator - Packaging is responsible for operating and maintaining the P2S5 milling system, including tote bin loading, unloading, cleaning, and railcar loading. This role involves monitoring inert gas systems (nitrogen or carbon dioxide), servicing oxygen analyzers, and managing rework product recycling. A forklift operator certification is required.
Duties
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures for handling P2S5, H2S, and NaOH.
- Follow plant emergency procedures and ensure compliance with Trecora safety standards.
- Operate three Alpine Mills, including performing screen changes.
- Manage the rework system for off-grade product recycling.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Monitor equipment performance and notify supervision of any issues.
- Oversee nitrogen and carbon dioxide inerting systems.
- Load tote bins on scales to specified weights.
- Maintain and service oxygen analyzer systems.
- Collect material samples from tote bins for quality analysis and shipment verification.
- Operate the dust separator and waste air fan.
- Complete all required production, quality, and safety documentation.
- Clean, wash, and pressure-test tote bins.
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the Trecora Lawrence Quality System.
Requirements
- Must meet the qualifications for an entry-level laborer position.
- Successful completion of new employee orientation and all job-specific training.
- Certified forklift operator.
