About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled an experienced CDL Driver with tree experience to join our team. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for transporting equipment to and from job sites as well as logs from the work site to a mill or holding yard. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly. This is a physically demanding job that requires excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid CDL A with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check
- Excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience transporting logs or other forestry products or equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic maintenance on the truck and trailer
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Transport logs from the work site
- Ensure logs are loaded and secured properly
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Driver will also be required to assist groundmen at the work site; including but not limited to, using a chainsaw, clearing brush and removing trees
Compensation:
Pay is notated as starting pay (negotiable), it may increase depending on skill and years of experience
Skills:
As a CDL Driver with tree experience, you will use your driving skills and knowledge of safety regulations to transport equipment to and from job sites as well as logs from the work site to a mill or holding yard. You will also need to be able to perform basic maintenance on the truck and trailer, and communicate effectively with other members of the team. Additionally, you will need to be able to work independently and manage your time effectively to ensure that deliveries are made on time and in a safe manner.
