About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, including diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, brakes, and axles. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. You will work closely with other members of the maintenance team to diagnose and repair equipment issues, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized trade school or apprenticeship program
- Experience working with a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, and loaders
- Experience working with computerized diagnostic equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Performing routine maintenance on heavy equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues with heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems
- Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on heavy equipment
- Working closely with other members of the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
