Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating appointments and managing schedules for patients and healthcare providers. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Scheduler will play a crucial role in ensuring that patient care is delivered smoothly and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments for patients with various healthcare providers.
- Verify insurance information and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and appointments using computerized systems.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans by gathering necessary patient information.
- Utilize phone systems effectively to communicate with patients and staff while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Perform administrative tasks such as 10 key typing for data entry and documentation.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and resolving scheduling conflicts promptly.
- Verify or obtain necessary authorizations prior to scheduling.
- Track down necessary medical records leading up to appointment.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in using phone systems and computerized scheduling software.
- Excellent phone etiquette to ensure positive interactions with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
