PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing maintenance functions and providing maintenance support for the plant. Position facilitates training for Supervisors and Mechanics with the purpose of ensuring departmental and operational safety and regulatory compliance, develops and maintains preventative maintenance program, works with the Continuous Improvement Engineer to initiate and run capital projects.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :

This position reports to the Plant Manager and manages the Selah plant Maintenance Supervisors, Purchasing Supervisor, Planner / Scheduler, Mechanics, and Parts Attendants. The position may work closely with Manufacturing Manager(s), all plant staff, Engineering, Human Resources, Wastewater Operations, Quality / Food Safety, contractors, vendors, regulators, auditors, and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY :

KNOWLEDGE OF :

• Principles and practices of food manufacturing, including food safety, quality, manufacturing concepts.
• Principles and practices of plant maintenance programs
• Principles and practices of managing capital projects.
• Principles and practices of maintenance, electrical, electronics, PLC, fabrication, and welding.
• Principles and practices of refrigeration and steam production.
• Knowledge of financial forecasting, budgeting, and accounting.
• Working knowledge of FDA and OSHA regulations, GMPs, Sanitation, and HACCP.
• Understanding of associated processing equipment and engineering.
• Principles and practices of continuous improvement concepts and related application technique.
• Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
