Position Overview:
This position is responsible for preparing the ingredients for any of the production lines according to specifications. Knowledge of product ingredients and formulation is critical in preparing ingredients for production.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all ingredients are available and fit for use
- Weigh ingredients to verify for correct amount according to specifications
- Keep the ingredients properly stored and staged
- Maintain a clean and sanitary area
- Read, follow & mix ingredient specifications to prepare & mix
- Track and record amount of ingredients on the batch sheet
- Operate computerized panel for mixer
- Use analytical equipment (thermometer, scale, water meter, hopper) to check ingredients
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Responsible for food safety, food quality and food defense.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain personal cleanliness
- Basic math skills
Tools Used: Safety knife, Casing Gloves, housekeeping tools, etc. (ie broom, dust pan, etc.)
Supervision:
· Does not supervise anyone.
Co-Employees:
· Other Mixers
· Machine operators
· Necessary to work as a team supporting and communicating properly with the other members of the production line team.
· Critical that the ingredients be mixed properly to maintain good quality and that the ingredients be mixed in a timely fashion so that the line does not experience down time as a result of either running out of ingredients or creating a bad batch
Physical demands:
· Be able to lift ingredient packages on a regular basis that weigh up to 50lbs.
· Push and guide bins
· Able to work on feet for the entire shift
Required PPE:
- Company approved Hard Hat
- Company approved Safety Glasses.
- Company approved non-slip/non-skid steel toed/composite toed shoes. (Slip rating 4 )
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills
· Education: HS Diploma or GED is acceptable with experience
· Experience: Previous Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
