POSITION OVERVIEW

Work effectively as part of the Restaurant service team, primarily responsible for, but not limited to, fulfilling guest service needs and completion of all tasks related to prep, set-up, service, bussing, table retrieval, breakdown, of amenities and In Room Dining Service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare back-of-house areas and stations to ensure execution of daily service (i.e. food side duties included but not limited to slicing fruit or preparing garnishment for beverages or plates)
  • Collect and transport all supplies needed for the shift including, but not limited to, all liquor, wine, beer, soda, juice, condiments and non-food items.
  • Responsible for set up and delivery of all in room dining orders confirming accuracy of order per company standards.
  • Present physical and accurate check to guests, process payment and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Process food and beverage checks for guests as well as accurately close these accounts out.
  • When serving beverages, abide by all state, federal and local liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and guests
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with delivered food and beverage
  • Responsible for set-up, delivery, refresh, and presentation of all amenities.
  • Answer guest questions on menu selection and/or ingredients. Must have complete knowledge of service time, menu, and daily specials.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of in room dining areas, guest hallways and service landings practicing “clean as you go” and reporting all breakage incidents.
  • Break down and remove any boxes and packaging used to unpack supplies and equipment related to In Room Dining. Return any service carts used to transport supplies and equipment to proper location.
  • Perform end of shift cleaning and restocking tasks and breakdown of service. Including but not limited to ensure all tables are properly set and the in room dining area is clean and neat, returning and restocking all food and beverage items, condiments, and supplies to the proper area, prior to departing.
  • Follow all company cash handling procedures.
  • Adhere to no solicitation of gratuities policy.
  • Input real-time work orders or guest concerns via Maintenance/Housekeeping communication software discovered during interaction.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the leadership team.
  • Thorough conversational knowledge of hotel history and statistics.
  • Thorough knowledge of daily events, times, & locations
  • Know all In-House and VIP guests

  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing side work
  • Assist with restaurant inventory as requested
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to all 1 Hotel policies and procedures, sanitation standards, safety and alcohol control policies.
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting other staff as time allows
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Promptly address guest service issues and refer to management when necessary
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the leadership team

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Ability to communicate fluently both verbally in written English
  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
  • Works well and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to stand, walk and bend throughout entire shift
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, move or lift up to 50lbs.
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends to accommodate the business and demands of the property.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in a hotel environment
  • GED or high school diploma
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • TIPS certified
