Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Perform surgeries and other medical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of aseptic technique.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
- Provide emergency care and critical care for animals in need.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with staff and pet owners.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, documenting treatments and progress.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education and training.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state veterinary license to practice.
- Experience or knowledge in pet grooming, equine care, animal catheterization, and laboratory procedures is preferred.
- Proficiency in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and veterinary critical care practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
