Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries by preparing instruments and equipment.
  • Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
  • Provide compassionate care to animals, including handling, grooming, and monitoring their health.
  • Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Utilize knowledge of dental terminology to assist with dental cleanings and procedures.
  • Support dog training initiatives as needed, reinforcing positive behavior techniques.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including sterilization of instruments.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred.
  • Strong dog handling skills with an understanding of animal behavior.
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary medicine.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • Experience in pet grooming is a plus but not required.
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent training is preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
